BUDDIES (Senior and Junior Partners) Bellevue Hill PS has a senior and junior partners (Buddies) program that involves students in years five and six teaming up with students in kindergarten and year one on a regular basis. The students have lessons together eg. art/craft, computing, reading, writing etc. with the senior students assisting their buddies.  Excursions and other special events are also undertaken.  For example, year five and kindergarten have gone to to the zoo and year six and year one have gone to Centennial Park to learn about animals and environmental impact and conservation. They have visited Sculpture By The Sea and held a Teddy Bear's picnic in the park.  Senior students have given their buddies lessons in the computer room, made art and craft and created pieces of writing together. Classes have also joined together for special events. The program aims to support and assist the young students in their first few years of school by providing them with a special friend who will look after them.  The program is extremely valuable to both the junior and senior students.
