ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (ESL) Students at Bellevue Hill come from a variety of backgrounds.  At present ESL students come from a range of countries in Europe, Asia and the Pacific region. Bellevue Hill PS has a specialist ESL teacher who works with students who have a non-English speaking background and are still developing their knowledge of English. Students are assessed and placed into groups according to their ability to speak, read and write English.  Lessons may involve being withdrawn for Intensive English work or team teaching with the classroom teacher.
